Social Content Creator
Job description
Our Team
We believe travel can create citizens of the world. We spark moments of connection and transformation, giving people the freedom to explore openly and shape their own story.
With colleagues from more than 50 countries, our diversity sparks curiosity, insight, and a culture of openness, essential to understanding our travellers and one another.
We work in a flexible hybrid model from our Utrecht HQ and our homes across the Netherlands.
Just as travel is about discovery, we’re looking for people who want to go one stop further, joining a journey that inspires personal transformation through train travel.
We’re on the search for...
Someone who wants to take our social media presence further: capturing the stories that happen off the main routes, the missed connections, the chance encounters, the places nobody planned to stop, and shaping them into something that gets travellers off the couch and onto a train.
The Social Media & Community team builds Interrail’s presence on social. We turn brand strategy into content, conversation and community that moves travellers from inspiration to action. The team owns organic and paid social channels, audience engagement and social listening, working closely with Brand, Creatives & Content, and the PR & Partnerships teams to keep every touchpoint consistent and culturally sharp.
The team meets in the office every Tuesday and Thursday, so you’ll be required to join on those days to work alongside your colleagues.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be part of the Social Media & Community team, reporting to the Social Lead. The Social Content Creator is the creative engine behind Interrail’s short-form video and visual content, shooting, editing and designing work that translates the brand vision into scroll-stopping, platform-native storytelling, from Reels and TikToks to Stories and Carousels.
Working closely with the Social Specialist and Online Community Manager, you’ll turn ideas into repeatable formats that build recognition, spark engagement and grow Interrail’s relevance to current and next-generation travellers. You’ll also help bring creator collaborations and brand partnerships to life on social, working alongside creator and partnership colleagues, who own the wider creator strategy and partnership agreements.
You’ll be:
Shooting, editing and designing short-form video and visual content (Reels, TikTok, Shorts, Stories, carousels) with strong pacing and a good eye for visual storytelling.
Running fast-turnaround production cycles: ideate, shoot, edit, publish, including content trips on location across Europe to capture stories that unfold along the way, not just the destination.
Developing original ideas and repeatable formats that build recognition and bring real journeys to life in a platform-native way.
Supporting the monthly and weekly organic social calendar in line with the brand and social strategy.
A comfortable, recognisable presence on camera, hosting or appearing in content when needed.
Tracking platform trends, algorithms, and cultural moments, turning them into timely content.
Partnering with the Creator Partnerships Specialist to bring creator collaborations to life on the ground and flag organic collaboration opportunities worth pursuing.
Sourcing and, with permission, reposting or duetting high-quality traveller UGC; building relationships with peer rail, tourism and travel brands for cross-posting and joint content.
Aligning with the social and community team on calendar, strategy, and engagement insights; collaborating with the Creatives & Content team on production standards and with PR & Partnerships on formal creator campaigns.
What we’re looking for
3-5 years of experience creating short-form video and social content, whether in-house, at an agency, or as an established content creator.
A solid portfolio or reel that shows your shooting, editing and storytelling ability.
Working knowledge across multiple creation tools (Canva, Edits, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, CapCut).
“Chronically online”. You live on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, and understand best practices, formats, what works and why.
A genuine interest in train travel, meeting locals, new experiences and other cultures.
A solid instinct for online culture, communities and visual aesthetics.
Advanced writing, storytelling and visual thinking skills.
Comfort and confidence in front of the camera.
A proactive, resourceful approach, able to turn things around quickly without sacrificing quality.
A collaborative style, comfortable taking direction from and giving input to Social, Community and Creative peers.
Our offer
We offer a flexible hybrid model that combines remote work with in-office days each week, enhancing teamwork and connection.
A complimentary NS train card to travel across the Netherlands for work and leisure.
