We’re on the search for…

…an innovative IT Ops tech lead with a commitment to people and practical solutions who can Go One Stop Further.

 

As Lead IT Operations, you are responsible for the business-critical systems and manage the functioning and support of the IT systems to ensure they are healthy, reliable, and customer-focused. You also contribute to the IT strategy to continuously improve and optimize our IT Operations that enhance the customer experience. You lead a multidisciplinary team consisting of 9 functional and technical specialists and will assist and guide their skill and performance development.

 

You are an effective problem solver who guarantees the stability and performance of our eCommerce landscape by ensuring everything operates efficiently. The IT Operations team is responsible for our AWS-based environments, monitoring, alerting, and collaborating with development teams to ensure smooth deployments to production for continuous delivery, as well as for resolving production incidents and implementing preventative measures. Sub-teams are in place to manage specific areas of our infrastructure. The IT Operations team also handles technical requests to assist customer service.

 

In collaboration with the developer, security and design leads as well as our IT architect, you’ll ensure a unified customer experience across operations, security, development, architecture, design and internal processes that facilitate and safeguard a forward-thinking IT strategy.

 

What you’ll be doing

You’ll join the IT team, reporting to the Head of IT.

 

Your main activities are:

  • Lead and mentor the IT Operations team, oversee daily operations, maintain team morale, and act as a people manager, overseeing performance reviews, personal development, and cultivating an inclusive, collaborative culture.

  • Ensure infrastructure reliability and availability by monitoring and maintaining the health and uptime of the production environments in accordance with predefined SLAs and non-functional requirements agreed upon with development or team leads (e.g., provisioning, scaling, cost control, uptime, system performance, patching, etc.).

  • Champion the DevSecOps mindset in the IT operations team, help build and improve the DevSecOps culture of shared ownership and collaboration with security and development teams, for mature support processes and strategic maintenance practices.

  • Own and continuously improve the incident management process, ensuring system stability, reducing customer impact, and enhancing operational excellence.

  • Collaborate closely with Development, Ops, UX and Security Leads to improve incident resolution workflows, address technical debt, and continuously raise the overall quality and resilience of our systems.

  • Act as a key liaison between development teams and stakeholders across IT (architects, project managers, scrum masters) and business functions (Heads, commercial teams, etc.).

  • Oversee supplier relationships and ensure alignment with operational and strategic needs.

  • Manage IT Ops budgets and resource planning, ensuring optimal allocation to support evolving business and technical priorities.

  • Own and develop the IT Ops dashboard, providing clear visibility into SLA compliance, infrastructure health, and operational KPIs.

Tech Stack & Tools

We work with a modern and evolving tech stack. Qualifications we are looking for include:

  • Experience with Microservices and AWS Serverless architecture

  • Cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and cloud engineering principles

  • Basic programming experience in Python, Java or React

  • Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment workflows

  • SQL knowledge and be able to work with non-relational databases (like DynamoDB)

  • Experience with ticketing systems like Jira, Confluence, ClickUp, etc.

  • Awareness of security principles (e.g., OWASP) and compliance standards i.e. cyber, privacy and accessibility

 

In addition, it’s beneficial if you are..

  • Familiar with, or happy to learn how to use our main back-end systems, Commercetools and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

 

Experience & Skills

What we’re looking for in your experience:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Operations, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles with experience in effectively leading and mentoring multidisciplinary technical teams.

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and the ability to apply them across support and operational workflows.

  • Experience in both B2C and B2B eCommerce environments in high-availability, customer-facing platforms.

  • Proficient in the English language, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate clearly and bridge technical and business stakeholders across seniority levels.

  • Great analytical mindset and sound technical judgment, combined with a natural urge for continuous improvement. You actively seek opportunities to enhance systems, processes, and team performance.

  • Effective communicator and resilient leader—capable of managing stress, navigating complex challenges, and translating technical topics into clear, accessible language for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience in budget ownership, vendor/supplier management, and IT resource planning.

 

In addition, it’s extra credit if you have…

  • Knowledge of the SAFe framework
